7 Ways to Make the Best Out of a Rainy Day

Who really likes a rainy day? Depending on where you live, a rainy day can be a good thing because they never happen, or a bad thing because it rains all too often. A lot of the times a gray day can mean we'll feel deflated and unmotivated and even sad! I want to give you some ideas to avoid the blues and make your rainy day a good one.

1. Tackle Your To Do List

Put on some Pandora or Spotify and pick a station that makes you happy. Clean your room, your desk, and even your closet! If you're in between a season you can use this time to change up your wardrobe and put away past season's items or even get rid of some pieces you know you don't want.

2. Make A Special Hot Drink

Here's a yummy recipe for a hot cocoa:

- 4 milk chocolate squares

-1 tbsp of bitter chocolate chips

-1 tsp of sugar

- 1 sprinkle of salt

-Some drops of vanilla extract

-1 cup of milk

Mix everything together and microwave for 1 1/2 minutes or as hot as you like it! Enjoy it while you binge watch on Netflix (7 movies every girl should watch in her 20's), catch up with your Youtube videos, read a book, write a blog post, or call an old friend.

3. Binge Watch

Like I mentioned above, binge watching is my favorite thing to do when it rains or I don't feel well. I love detective shows but if I think it's going to put me in a weird mood, I go for Parks and Recreation, or something else that's funny.

4. Make A Sweet Treat

If you're going to spend some time binge watching tv, here's a yummy treat to munch on:

Caramel Pop Corn:

-1/2 cup of sugar

-1/4 cup of butter

-Sprinkle of salt

-1/2 tbsp of molasses or honey (optional)

-1 tbsp of milk or more (optional)

Melt the butter on the stove top in a pan set to medium heat and add sugar once it's melted. Add the molasses or the honey and the salt and stir. When the sugar is almost melted add the milk to give it a creamy texture. The result will be a caramel sauce. Add the sauce onto the popcorn you already popped and enjoy!

5. Pamper Yourself At Home

Take a bubble bath, do your hair, nails, wax your eyebrows. Experiment with your make up while you listen to your favorite tunes. Try new nail designs while you sip on that yummy hot cocoa, or pluck and wax your eyebrows. I always forget my eyebrows until I see myself in good lighting and I scream because they're super grown, so this is the perfect time to do them!

6. Reflect On Your Life

Use this time of idleness to write down your goals and reflect on past goals. Focus on everything positive in your life and count all the blessings you have. Think of to improve your life, manage your time better, or focus on helping others more.

7. Play Board Games

Playing board games is a great way to spend time with your loved ones and bond. Some of my favorites are Apples to Apples, Scrabble, and Pictionary!

Keep this list handy for next time it rains so you have some ideas and you don't get bored!
